Shalom, and welcome to Temple Beth Emet. We are a warm and welcoming congregation with a proud past and an eye toward the future.

 

Does being the rabbi of the only synagogue in Anaheim make me, as some have suggested, the “Disneylander Rebbe”? Well, our yarmulkes do not have ears, and we are definitely not a Mickey Mouse outfit.

However, if you are visiting the Anaheim area for any of our major tourist attractions, and you'd like to come to one of our services, you might just discover the real "Magic Kingdom."

We have Shabbat services Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Since we have Shabbat dinners once a month or more, and since we are experimenting with different times for Torah study, you'll want to check our online calendar for when services begin on any given week. Once they do start, you’ll find that I’m often joined by skilled lay leaders, as well as our cantor, Zev Brooks, whom a recent visitor (Clive Lawton, founder of Limmud and the 2012 Orange County Community Scholar) called "a rare thing - a cantor with wit!"

 

We are always trying to keep the service fresh, with new tunes and commentary, and we also have study groups that focus on prayer in a way that gives meaning to our ancient words beyond the translations.

We have been in this location for over fifty years, and we are in the process of renewing ourselves through a well-thought-out strategic planning process. We are moving forward, steered by our past. Join us!​
